Teachers assume responsibility for professional growth, performance and involvement as an individual and as a member of a learning community
Over my time at WHHS, I have taken the time to do observations, receive coaching and attend professional development sessions that are not required as well as finishing my Masters in Ed and advancing my CTE license.
in the 20/21 school year I spent the whole first semester in a SkillsUSA professional development workshop for faculty advisors and participated in the year long "Collaborating for Teacher Excellence" workshops organized by the Ohio Department of Education.
2021 spring semester, I had the opportunity to lead another teacher by example and next year in project based learning. And I now lead the Unified Arts department as the department chair. I am also leading high school teachers as the point of contact for the district's culturally responsive teaching initiative.
A presentation I created and delivered to introduce the WHHS teaching community to the Culturally Responsive Teaching Curriculum Proposal to be brought to the WHCSD school board.
